Brazil's government has committed to some major petrochemicals investments, including the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex, and polypropylene (PP), acrylic acid and purified terephthalic acid (PTA) projects. Brazil plans to develop a petrochemical complex in the Amazon region using natural gas from a pipeline under construction by Petrobras. LG Petrochemicals plans to double its bisphenol-A (BPA) capacity in Yeocheon, South Korea by June 2008.
