The article reports on an increase in the operating profits posted by chemical company Shin-Etsu for the nine months ended December 31, 2006. For the polyvinyl chloride (PVC) businesses, sales and profit at its U.S. subsidiary Shintech also increased. Shin-Etsu PVC in the Netherlands also had steady production and sales.
