ABSTRACT
The article reports on the 2006 financial performance of PetroChina, China's largest integrated oil company. PetroChina's production of ethylene in 2006 jumped by 9.5% from a year earlier to 2.1 million tons. Output of synthetic rubber rose by 11% to 312,000 tons, while that of urea was little changed at 3.6 million tons. In the six months ended June 2006, the company's net profit surged to a record 80.7 billion Chinese yuan.
