The article reports on the plans of INEOS Polyolefins to invest more than €150 million in Europe, lifting polypropylene (PP) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) capacities in Belgium and the Great Britain by 2009. At Geel in Belgium, INEOS will close an older, unprofitable PP plant in late 2007, replacing it with increased production from its PP2 facility. At Grangemouth, Scotland, the company will debottleneck its current PP unit to 280,000 tons/year, from 250,000 tons/year.
