ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a deal between BellSouth and AT&T companies to achieve a common networking language, and reduce access fees in cities through their unification. As economics dictates, less competition between the companies will drive up consumer costs. The companies are also looking to improve internet connections and add more corporate video features. BellSouth's wireless products will be used in sales to other telecommunications companies working on national U.S. wireless networks. The author encourages readers to look at the Merger Commitments on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) website, and provides excerpts from the agreement in this article. INSET: Merger Commitments, Questions and Comments.
