ABSTRACT
The article reports on wide area internet networks and the interconnectivity of various internet access platforms. Rick Malone, of the Vertical Systems Group, states that of products being sold in the U.S., dedicated Internet Access (DIA) being used on Internet Service Providers (ISP) and cable networks accounts for one third of ethernet ports being sold. The next-largest group of ethernet ports goes to customers accessing the internet from different sources such as virtual private networks (VPN). Malone shares that his company stores this research in their Emerging Networks Service (ENS).
