ABSTRACT
The article discusses the statement of Directors Guild of America President Michael Apted on the future of the guild in the entertainment industry. Apted emphasizes that an array of emerging digital platforms have clouded film and television futures for which contracts must be negotiated. Meanwhile, the negotiations would not start until late in 2007 because it is affected by the Writers Guild of America whose negotiations are set on July 2007.
