ABSTRACT
The article discusses how the Endangered Language Fund has created the Bill Bright Award, named after deceased linguist Bill Bright. The award will support research into languages in the Americas or South Asia and will be granted to one recipient each year. Award administrators will choose the project that best matches Bill's own interests in the areas of language and culture, sociolingnistics, writing systems, and oral literature, among others.
