ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a request for technology (RFT) issued by the Low Power Coalition (LPC) of semiconductor industry standards promoter Silicon Integration Initiative (Si2) to enhance Common Power Format (CFP), a standardized power specifications originally developed by Cadence Design Systems Inc. The format was approved as a Si2 specification and is set to be released after a patent exclusionary period ending March 4, 2007. The request indicates the viability of CPF as an important low-power specification.
