ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of China to launch a database of fines and violations to the environment in a bid to discourage banks from lending money to firms that continue to pollute. The State Environmental Protection Agency and the Chinese central bank announced that the environmental record and history of fines of a company will be added to the People's Bank of China credit database.
