First-ever analysis grades lifecycle funds

The article focuses on a study by Turnstone Advisory Group that compares and rates providers of lifecycle funds in the U.S. It rated Fidelity, Vanguard, T. Rowe Price, the Principal Group, Barclays Global Investors and Wells Fargo in various categories including structure and modern portfolio risk analysis. It found that most family funds are reliant on traditional mean-variance analysis for their allocations. A 2006 study cited that majority of plans with automatic enrollment use an asset allocation as the default option.
