ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of Sicartsa, a steel producer from Grupo Villacero in Mexico by Arcelor Mittal, the world's largest steelmaker. As a fully integrated producer of long steel, Sicartsa produces an annual production capacity of 2.7 million tons from Mexico and Texas. This has become the first acquisition for Arcelor Mittal since the merger of the two steel companies created the company in 2006.
