ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of agrochemicals firm United Phosphorous Ltd. to buy the global propanil herbicide business of Dow AgroSciences LLC for around $25 million. A revenue of $18.9 million was derived by Dow Chemical Co. from propanil in 2005. R. D. Shroff, chairman and managing director of Dow Chemical Co., says that the cost of production of the firm will become low as a result of the acquisition.
