ABSTRACT
The article stresses the need for retail food store operators in the U.S. to set up a comprehensive injury prevention regimen, including specialized equipment, gear and education. Nationwide, more than 58% of customer injuries, and 30% of worker injuries, are due to slips. Several companies have developed products and processes to take a bite out of slip-and-fall payouts, both to customers and employees. Trax Retail Solutions has launched SmartStore Sweep Trax. Another product is GleasonESP by Gleason Technology.
