ABSTRACT
The article discusses the struggles of consumers in Namibia with declining disposable income and high personal debt. The income drain is attributable to inflation, which increased from 1% in May 2005 to 6% in November 2006, and higher taxes. The higher inflation rate is driven by strong increases in prices of food, beverages and transportation. Higher interest rates would limit he availability of credit of the consumers. A chart showing demographic and economic information about Namibia is presented.
