The article focuses on activist quilts. The activist exhibit "Changing the World One Thread at a Time" was curated by artists Thelma Smith at the Tubac Center of the Arts in southern Arizona. It brought together the works of fabric artists from the U.S. and around the world. There are two categories of activist quilts, those that display a message boldly and those that raise funds or are made in remembrance.
