ABSTRACT
The article reports that the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has said that donor assistance is now critical as Cote d'Ivoire struggles with cleaning the toxic waste dumped on its shores in 2006. Achim Steiner, under-secretary and executive director of UNEP said: To date, the world has watched the tragedy of the Cote D'Ivoire unfold, but has so far failed to assist with the financial support the authorities so urgently need.
