ABSTRACT
This article explains that U.S.-based performance films and polyamide specialist Solutia is pursuing two paths to reorganisation on its emergence from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. One involves the sale of its equity to a third party; the other will see it grant bondholders shares in the company. Solutia filed for Chapter 11 protection in December 2003. Creditors and the bankruptcy judge would have to back a reorganisation plan before the firm can emerge from bankruptcy.
