Heating/Piping/Air Conditioning Engineering;Jan2007 Supplement, Vol. 79, pBSE20
The article discusses the benefits of boiler economizers, a mechanical heat exchange device considered as an alternative option to increase system fuel efficiency. Such devices can improve energy consumption by 3 to 10 percent. One of the factors that need to be considered when selecting an economizer include corrosion concerns. A representative example of how energy savings with an economizer are calculated is also presented.
