ABSTRACT
The article reports on a study of patients in whom an infected femoral or tibial nonunion had been treated with nail exchange continuous irrigation suction drainage and antibiotic therapy. All the infected femoral and tibial nonunions healed following nail exchange. Exchange nailing has been shown to be successful for the treatment of both atrophic and hypertrophic nonunions.
