ABSTRACT
The articles presents suggestions for beef producers in Great Britain to ensure that they are able to make use of home and overseas markets available to them, maximize revenues and avoid unnecessary costs. On the domestic market, requirements vary depending on whether animals are destined for processing, a local butcher, food service, mainstream retail or export. Weight and visual appearance and regular handling are guides to determining market condition and target specifications.
