ABSTRACT
The article discusses the improvements in the news reports and business strategies of The Associated Press. Its decision to employ new technology is important to the improvements. The company has its multimedia base in place and it is in the process of discarding the old legacy systems that served up one media type at a time. The database combines files such as graphics and it is also capable of searching via a password-protected browser by journalists and consumers. Because of the deployment of the database, the company can serve its core newspaper customers with enhanced news content than ever before.
