ABSTRACT

The article focuses on the launch of a new research project, Masdar, by the government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates, to advance renewable technologies. It includes a research institute, an industrial development zone, an alternative energy center of excellence, and a renewable energy development company, Abu Dhabi Future Energy Co. The author explores the chances of sustainability of this project and determines that the efforts are being made in the right direction.
