ABSTRACT
This is an introduction to the theme of Fuzzy Logic and Artificial Neural Networks as two theories that enrich the analytic perspective of sociology. Its application ranges from the modeling of interactive and organizational systems to the simulation of actors and social phenomena. It begins with a critical critical view of the the classic perspective of the socioilogist who relies to a great extent in theories of probability and statistics in order to formalize its reasoning. It takes into account the complex nature of objects of study derived from a second-order observation, on the basis of the reflection of investigators that observe themselves investigating, and, by means of fuzzy logic and various components derived from the theory and models of artificial neural networks, it is possible to establish new forms of «understanding/explaining» social phenomena.
