ABSTRACT
The article reports on the refusal of the Greek Ministry of Defense and Hellenic Navy to accept the first Katsonis-class submarine which was built by Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft AG in Germany. Sources indicate that the Hellenic Navy has identified that the submarine is highly unstable while surface, the air-independent propulsion system has lower output power, and seawater leakage into hydraulic systems.
