ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the new tactics employed by the Iwo Jima Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) aimed at evacuating American citizens from Lebanon in the outbreak of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah. The expeditionary group deployed long-range CH-53 Super Stallion helicopters and started the evacuation of Americans from Lebanon to Cyprus. As the aggression continues, the elements of the ESG of 2020 will be equipped with aircraft and ships that can operate under hazardous conditions.
