The article discusses the action sports industry's response to the youth culture's social and environmental consciousness. The author suggests that the green movement's influence on the industry in the U.S. will continue to grow. She notes several companies that have responded with organic cotton, hemp, bamboo, and non-toxic materials in product lines, including Volcom, Etnies, Vans, Quiksilver, and Reef. The question of whether consumers are willing to pay more for organic is discussed.
