ABSTRACT
The article discusses the growth of car camping, which remains a strong sector of the outdoor recreation business. Two distinct categories within the market are defined: traditional destination camping and motor bivvy in which the goal is to participate in some activity or sport aside from camping. Comments from executives from Coleman, GSI Outdoors, and Eureka are included, and each company's product lines that are geared toward car campers are discussed.
