The article discusses the Copeland family's decision to sell its retail chain, Copeland Sports, in a joint venture led by The Sports Authority. Reasons for the sale are provided. Three companies agreed to pay $21.7 million for the stores: The Sports Authority; Hilco Real Estate, LLC; and Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC.
