ABSTRACT
The article discusses the acceptance of business performance management (BPM) by CFOs and CIOs. Cognos, Inc. CFO Tom Manley says that BPM software has penetrated only 20-25% of the market, but 80% of Fortune 500 companies use Cognos software. There has been no "tipping point" of mass conversion of prospective buyers by either Cognos or its rival with similar penetration numbers, Hyperion Solutions Corp.
