ABSTRACT
The article reports that the British Academy Film Awards deadlines are so tight that many late-released films have been cut out of the running. Polling starts December 11, which means that many films which have not been widely screened at that point will not be voted on. Studios had to press for audiences to see the depressing "United 93" and "Babel."
