ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Huntington, New York Fire Department has responded to a call involving a gas leak in Huntington, New York on November 11, 2006. The officer who arrived first has found a partly collapsed structure, just before an explosion leveled a 2-story house, causing a gas-fed fire. It was found that a contractor excavating with a backhoe has ruptured a natural-gas service line, causing gas to leak into the home's cellar. The fire was in control in about three hours.
