ABSTRACT
The article reports on the simulation study by the researchers at Purdue University in Indiana about what happened inside the North Tower of the World Trade Center when American Airlines Inc. Flight 11 crashed unto the structure on September 11, 2001. The simulation offers a better understanding of which elements in the buidling's structural core were affected, how they reacted to the collision shock, and how the tower collapsed from the ensuing fire.
