ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the expansion by German chemicals company BASF of its diphenyl-methane diisocyanate (MDI) production complex in Antwerp, Belgium. The site will be made the largest of its type when the added capacity comes on stream in 2007. BASF expects the global market for MDI to grow by more than 6%/year in the coming years, particularly in Asia.
