ABSTRACT
This article reports on the cooperation formed between the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) and Novell on the development of the enterpise-level certification program called LPIC-3. According to Jim Lacey, president and CEO of LPI, the two organizations have the same strategies in promoting the adoption and growth of open source. He also pointed out a multiple city tour in Brazil on legacy modernization sponsored by Novell and IBM in which LPI has a major role in promoting Linux professional skills development and open standards. In January 2007, LPI will launch the program and will hold the first North American exam lab at Novell's BrainShare� event in March 2007.
