ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of Cambium Learning, which offers alternative instructional solutions to basal textbooks, to explore its options which includes taking the company to go public, recapitalize or sale in the U.S. The company markets various programs, services and technology to improve the performance of struggling students and those with special needs. Nader Darehshori, former Houghton Mifflin chairman, president and CEO, established the company in February 2004. It grew with the acquisitions of Kurzweil Educational Systems in April 2005. In 2006, they purchased Intellitools and The Herman Method remedial reading program.
