ABSTRACT
The article discusses the management of short-term and long-term planning tension in corporations. There are changes in traditional strategic planning processes that can make a difference in corporations. The corporate center issues guidance to the business units on financial results and invites managers to develop multiyear plans. Also, simple devices can make the decision on long term strategy more consequential and increases the likelihood.
