ABSTRACT
The article reports on the one-runway facility planned to be built at the San Diego International Airport in California in 2006. The facility will handle 32 million annual passengers by 2030. A November 2006 ballot measure proposed that part of the Miramar Marine Corps Air Station be converted into a commercial airport. However, the proposal failed thus officials are focusing on a master plan through 2015 to maximize the site's capacity, with work on a 10-gate second terminal to begin in 2008.
