ABSTRACT
The article reports on the contract between Outokumpu Technology and Konkola Copper Mines Plc. (KCM) for the delivery of slag cleaning furnaces for KCM's copper flash smelting plant in Zambia. It also reports on the delivery by Outokumpu Technology of two alumina calcination plants for Alcan Gove's alumina refinery expansion project in Australia. Outokumpu Technology president and CEO Tapani Järvinen said that the contract showed the company's competitiveness in smelter technologies, and their capability to design and deliver whole smelters.
