ABSTRACT
In the article etimological structure and Qur'an usages of "VSY" root are studied. While the "VSY" root was transmitting into Turkish it only rought one of its three meanings. In other words its meaning was narrowed. The root meaning of "VSY" is "to order". The meanings "to bequeath" and "to advice" are related to its other meaning (to order). However; while translating the verses of Qur'an, great attention should be paid and the translations should be made in the light of Arabic meanings o "VSY" root. In Qur'an translations such kind of attention mistakes have be made. With this study related to "VSY" root, the meanings of root are revealed and unattentiveness in the translation of Qur'an verses are paid attention.
