ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of specialty retailer Pier 1 Imports (P1I) Inc. P1I lost $72.7 million or 83 cents per share in the third quarter period ending November 25, 2006. Sales of $402.7 million decreased 11.8 percent from the comparable period in 2005. The company took a charge of $24.8 million or 28 cents per share in the latest quarter for store level asset impairment.
