Milk to continue uptick in '07 after 2.8% boost

The article forecasts the increase in milk production in the U.S. in 2007. The 2007 forecast for milk production is 183.2 billion pounds. The year-to-date average wholesale price index for milk is at 78.53, down 6.16% from last year. In 2007, cow numbers will finally dip below year-earlier levels but annual milk per cow will continue to rise, boosting production per animal to an average 20,285 pounds.
