ABSTRACT
The article discusses issues surrounding the recent signing of a legislation by U.S. President George W. Bush authorizing 700 miles of new fencing along the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent illegal immigration. It also highlights the fact that the legislation offers not enough money for the fence project. A $1.2 billion has been allocated to the fence which is not enough to build even one-third of the 2,100-mile U.S.-Mexican border.
