ABSTRACT
The article presents an overview of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians which is part of the larger international conflict between Israelis and Arabs. Throughout history, Palestine has changed hands numerous times and ownership of the territory has been claimed by both the Jews and the native Arabs following the collapse of the Ottoman Empire. A brief history of the conflict between Israel and the Palestinian people is presented, as well as related terms and their definitions.
