New Yorker;10/5/1981, Vol. 57 Issue 33, p41
The article features the "Model," a documentary film of Frederick Wiseman about the fashion-model business of the New York City. It began by showing how modelling depends on distinctions so subtle that the rest of the world walks on by them. Then these models were shown trying to walk, as they were impeded due to their physical incompetents. Owing to its plot, the film was said to have a democratic spirit because it sees regular people's casual mobility as the model, the standard of completion.
