ABSTRACT
The article relates the author's experience in attending the First International Conference on the Human/Companion Animal Bond held at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She had to lean against the wall to listen at some of the more popular meetings. She noticed that the organizing committee seemed taken aback by the success of the conference.
