The article presents a case report on heparin treatment of a 74-year-old woman with deep vein thrombosis after paracentesis. The patient developed a hematoma during prophylactic treatment with heparin. She experienced severe pain and had dyspnoea. She also developed renal failure and later died with sepsis.
