ABSTRACT
This article reports that Essar Oil is proposing to match rival Reliance Industries' refining capacity tonne by tonne. After a 30 million tonne refinery was set up adjacent to Reliance's existing 27 million tonne refinery, Essar plans to raise capacity to 60 million tonnes in a phased expansion. Essar is also planning to set up a petrochemical complex at Jamnagar, India.
