ABSTRACT
The article focuses on microcredit organization Accion International's president Maria Otero who is working with poor and impoverished people, helping them receive small loans that they can use to better their lives. A native of Bolivia, Otero spoke to members of High Water Women, an organization focused on philanthropy and comprised almost entirely of women from the hedge fund universe. $9.6 billion to four million people has been lent by Accion since 1996.
