ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the agreement between the U.S. National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to consolidate their regulatory operations into a new self regulatory organization (SRO). It is informed that Mary Shapiro, NASD Chairman and Chief Executive, will be CEO of the new organization, while NYSE Regulation CEO Richard Ketch urn will be nonexecutive chairman for a three-year transition period.
